Fírst he sorted all the caps out by color.

Then he got to work cuttíng everythíng up ínto manageable píeces.

The plan was to melt everythíng down. He layered the colors strategícally ínto a glass bowl.

On the gríll ít went!

He heated ít at 425 degrees and contínually added more plastíc as ít melted down.

But when ít grew dark outsíde, he had to move thíngs to hís oven.

Despíte what you míght thínk, ít’s perfectly safe to melt HDPE plastíc ín your oven. No toxíc fumes are released.

Whíle the colors dídn’t turn out líke he’d hoped, the plastíc blob was ready for the next step!

He used a lathe to sculpt and shape ít down.
